Simrad RC42 Rate Compass

The Simrad RC42 is a rate compass with an integrated rate of turn sensor

The Simrad RC42 rate compass provides a significant improvement to the dynamic performance of both the autopilot and a stabilized radar display.

The Simrad RC42 compass is designed for connection to the SimNet network. It is equipped with 5,5 m (18 feet) of SimNet cable with connector. The compass transmit the heading even if the autopilot is switched off.

Input from SimNet:

- Heading offset

- Calibration start

- Software upload

Output on SimNet/NMEA2000 format

The compass is NMEA2000 compatible and outputs PGN 127250 and 127251

- Calibrated heading, transmission rate of 20 Hz when selected as heading source on SimNet,
otherwise 1 Hz.

- Magnetic field data

- Error messages and status information
